Crazy for Kids Clothes [CRAZY 8 SALE]

I tend to think it's harder to find unique and adorable clothing for boys than it is for girls. Being as all the munchkins around here are of the testosterone variety, yet love looking sharp, I fell in love with Crazy 8 the first time I stumbled into the rabbit hole that is it's site.

My children have a wardrobe that rivals my own in many ways. I would love nothing more than to turn their tiny closet into a walk-in/shrine to the cuteness that is their darling little distructed denim, kid rocker tees and pint-sized polos. Though they "definitely don't need any more clothes" as my husband would say, it's plain fact that you have to stock up on the sizes they are growing
into or else you end up paying full retail as you need it and most likely only getting to choose from what's left of the local selection. This is practical budgeting people, wouldn't you rather give 3 bucks for a cute shirt that retails for over 10, rather than pay $3.88 for a shirt that is probably not worth half that? The great thing about buying from a site like this is that the clothing is going to retain some retail value should you choose to resell it or still look great when the next kid grows into that size.

Check out some of the items I picked out on this weekends' Crazy 8 sale. >>
Crazy 8 SaleCoupled with an email coupon I received from signing up for their newletter, and free shipping on every order; we made out like bandits! Well-dressed ones obvi....
I of course had to peruse the entire clearance section in both Toddler Boy & Boy, since being 3 & 5 they are at the larger sizes of TB (3-5y) and the smallest of B's (XXS &XS). We found a couple shirts under $3 & $4 and even their adorably dressy little plaid button ups were just a couple of dollars more.

I'm almost wishing I would have waited a couple of days, though. Crazy 8 has this new sale out now, where you can get some great specials for $6, $8 & $10! That's comparable if not better pricing than Wally World, and you are getting far better quality, colors & prints.

Oh what I wouldn't give to shop spree-style with no budget. It's times like this I wonder why I'm not playing the lottery or devising a plan to become filthy rich. Rich enough to just hit checkout when I'm done looking instead of editing the cart down to a number that won't put my husband's blood pressure through the roof!

You Can Have Nice Things!

You Can Have Nice Things!

You Can Have Nice Things!

by Crystal Crouch 4/5/15
I find myself; at times, repeating the same words my mother used to say...
"I can't have nice things."
It's a ridiculous habit borne from frustration after the kids destroy everything you have and any material possession of which you have bestowed worth and sentimental value upon.. Clothing, shoes, jewelry, makeup, bedding. The most beautiful things I accumulated like a museum showcase in my early twenties - quickly went to junk when the kids could squirrel their way into everything.
I could write a book of the destruction wraught upon my prized possessions...books torn, jewelry disassembled, lipsticks used as paint, brand new chevron comforter re-designed by O.P.I.
And the sheets...when once I would buy only white I now wonder why they make the color at all. It's a blank canvas of possibilites for sneaky kids with messy handprints & dirty feet. Those rugrats love nothing more than to sneak food into our room or their big brothers'...and hide under the comforter with cartoons and crunchy crushable noms. I can't say how many times I've gone to crawl into bed after a long day and had to clean it first. It's embarassing to say, but it happens..and the worst is when they've taken a cup to bed and spilled something only to have completely ruined my precious bedding with stains. You'd be surprised at the spots that plain milk will leave behind.
My solution? DARK SHEETS! Dark everything where I can help it.
I recently had the opportunity to test these gorgeously smooth Olivia Branch Sheets and I was delighted to find a range of colors. A few days later; for the first time in 3 decades, I found myself with black sheets.
I have to say that my initial reaction was surprise. While they fit well and felt great - they didn't immediately make the room look like a dungeon! Who knew?
They have elastic all around the edges and for that reason I decided to put these on my son's bed. There have been times with sheets past when the so-called fitted sheet was pulled up to the wall after a rough night and the boys are sleeping on a bare mattress. This all around fit is fantastic for flipping and flopping kids that would otherwise tug the edges loose.

They feel very smooth and I think that is a testament to the yarns that they use which give the 1800 thread count its Egyptian Quality. The 100% luxury microfiber / polyester collection was designed to simulate the comfort and durability of fine Egyptian Cotton sets that can cost 3 times as much! The fine quality fibers are double brushed with a technique to give them a silken feel. I was provided free or discounted product in exchange for sharing personal experience and review and all opinions are my own after use of the product.
I would recommend these to a broad range of people, aside from resigned parents. I feel they hold up well and are an exceptional choice for durable bedding, being shrink free and resistant to the average wear and tear.
Olivia Branch has authorized us to release a coupon code good for 10% off any item on their product page. Visit the link below to view the broad range of colors, available exclusively discounted to you, my precious readers!

We're Back! {Hallelujah TYG}

I believe I actually heard angels sing when I finally restored the site. After a month of downtime (sad face) and countless hours of research and price comparison, as well as the lengthy and confusing process of switching my registrar and transferring the mess - and we are back! Back in business, back in the saddle, back in black! (Black font, for the record, I don't know what AC/DC was really howling about...)

So some of the data has been saved, the rest I am fixin to post with original dates although it may make for a bit of a mess around here. But I have a fresh start and I'm going to try and keep it organized and hopefully get the same feel I had before. If you can't tell I've switched from Wordpress to Blogger which already seems to be a bit more user friendly and with the option to post from mobile I should be able to get even better samples and limited deals and steals out there for you! I hope that if you are reading this and you survived the transition with me; that you'll comment and tell me where you're from, how long you've been a visitor, why you're here, and/or maybe a fun fact about yourself. I'm just tickled pink that I am online and can get back to doing what I love! Deal finding, sampling and reviewing! Oh my!

XOXO

When you need a little help being independent...

Am I the only one who has trouble with a standard tire gauge?

I am not exaggerating when I say I gauge the same tire a dozen times trying to get the same reading. How do you know how much pressure to apply? Am I holding it right? Did I leave it on there long enough?

I recently had trouble with a tire that had a knot on it. We were waiting for a good payday (and, ok I'll admit; I was procrastinating so I didn't have to lug the 2 & 4 yr old in to get it done and wait in walmart where they want everything and suddenly forget the meaning of the word NO.)

So every other day or so my low pressure light was coming on in the car and of course I was having visions of blowouts and crashes. I spent a ridiculous amount of time poking at my tires and digging for quarters at the Speedway to make sure everything was as close to even as I could manage. What a headache. I honestly thought: you know what? I take back all the feminist views I have expressed and would hereby like to leave all this work to a MAN. Preferably my husband, but if a hobo or carnie had approached and offered to take over, I probably would have settled back into the driver's seat, locked the doors, cracked a window-and let HIM handle it.

You know what I can handle? Online ordering that arrives in 2 days.

NorthONE(TM) Digital Tire Pressure Gauge

Where was this little gadget then? It makes it so. much. easier. It's lighted, so I can easily pull the trigger day and night (because you know when the sun goes down every trip is just that much more nerve-wracking.

Orange. Because hey, I'm lucky I can find the pedals some days in the mobile space my children and their junk are trying to take over. I try to always keep it in the glovebox-but it catches the eye so it can easily be spotted in whatever place its hiding in (or under).

It functions well and it's just nice to take all the guesswork out of it. This is one tool I can call my own, because if my husband is going to take every cheap $1 gauge I buy then, well he can have it. I earned a break after over-gauging all 4 tires for an hour in the rain last month so you know what? I deserve this.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
